Using a Senquip Device as a Day-Night Controller

APN0023  |  Revision 1.0  |  April 18, 2024

This document explains how to use an onboard light sensor or external photocell to drive outputs based on ambient‑light levels. It describes hardware connections, threshold calibration, and scripting logic for hysteresis control to prevent flicker during dawn and dusk. The example provided turns on lighting or pumps when illumination drops below a defined lux value and switches them off at sunrise. It also covers using the device’s real‑time clock for time‑based overrides and scheduling. The approach enables cost‑effective automation of lighting towers, signage, and solar‑powered systems without external PLCs or timers.
