Geofences in a Script

APN0047  |  Revision 1.0  |  January 22, 2026

This application note describes how geofencing can be implemented on Senquip devices using the built-in scripting environment. It covers both simple circular geofences and more advanced polygon geofences, showing how each approach can be used to determine whether a remote asset is inside or outside defined geographic areas. Practical considerations such as GPS accuracy, entry and exit stability, overlapping geofences, and configuration management are discussed. The document focuses on real-world, maintainable implementations that use external CSV files for geofence definitions and minimal script changes to extend functionality. By preserving consistent behaviour and commissioning workflows, the techniques described allow users to scale from basic single-site monitoring to complex, irregular site boundaries with confidence.
