Last week, our distribution partner Macquarrie Corporation identified an opportunity to make installation of a bulkhead antenna easier.
If the mounting hole was made slightly larger, the FAKRA connector could pass straight through without removing the shroud. The problem was that the larger hole left too little surface for the slotted retaining nut.
Their solution was simple: a slotted washer that could be fitted around the cable after the connector had passed through the hole.
We passed the suggestion on to Quectel.
Within days, their engineering team had reviewed the request, evaluated the change, agreed to supply the washer with the antenna, and produced an updated product drawing.
For us, this is what a good supplier relationship looks like.
Customer feedback gets to the right people, engineering gets involved, and where a change makes sense, they act.
